Habitat for Humanity

Master Gardener volunteers can apply their knowledge and skills to install the landscaping
for two Habitat for Humanity homes.
Bring hoes, shovels and your gardening tools to assist in completing this Habitat project.

Environmental Action Meeting

Disposal of Hazardous Household Items: There will be a meeting monday , July 21 at 3:30 at the Community Services Bldg. 9039 Fairforest Road
( near Cracker Barrel near I-26 & I-85 )
to discuss disposal of hazardous household items eg. old pesticides,etc . This is a topic of interest to all MG members and ideas and participation is important.


Farmers Market - New Volunteeer Opportunity

The "Farmers Market" opened on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
On Saturday, May 17, Joe Maple & Charlie Gray launched our support of the Market as the first MGAP volunteer team for 2008.
We will provide volunteers two Saturdays each month:
  • June 28
  • July 12
  • July 26.

MGAP Mission Statement


  • The Master Gardener Association of the Piedmont (MGAP) is an organization in Spartanburg County, South Carolina that trains residents in horticultural topics, sponsors volunteer projects in the community, and provides the Clemson Extension Service with trained volunteers. Members must pass a Master Gardener certification course. Current active membership is 236.
  • The MG program is led by a state coordinator who is a member of the Clemson University Horticulture Department.
    Guidance is provided by a statewide advisory committee that is made up of Master Gardners and Extension personnel from throughout S.C.
